Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the UN Women Head of Program and direct supervision of the National Program Officer for the Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW), the consultant shall undertake the following key tasks:
- Provision of Technical Inputs to Programme Implementation
- Provide technical inputs to the implementation of the UN Women’s EVAW programme, particularly on the outputs relevant to prevention and response to violence against women migrant workers in the Biennial Work Plan (BWP) 2022-2023.
- Provide support to programme implementation in drafting the work plan, concept notes, presentations, knowledge, and/or communication products on EVAW and migration.
- Provide support to monitor the implementation of projects under the EVAW programme, including support for data collection and regular monitoring reports.
- Provide technical inputs in the preparation of donor and UN Women reports.
- Provision of support for Partnership Development and Management
- Support UN Women to establish, develop and manage partnerships with Government, NGOs, and UN Agencies.
- Facilitate capacity building through training, workshops, and other methodology to ensure implementing partners achieve intended outputs in line with BWP.
- Facilitate effective coordination and network with other UN agencies, key government institutions, Civil Society Organizations, trade unions, migrant worker communities, and other partners/stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in gender, psychosocial, social work, development studies, or other social science-related fields.
- A minimum of five (5) years of working experience advocating women migrant workers’ rights and violence against women and/or gender and women migrant worker issues and trafficking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and experience working with government agencies, CSOs, trade unions, placement companies, and migrant worker communities.
- Excellent gender analytical skills and knowledge of the broader issues related to UN Women’s mandate on the elimination of violence against women, human rights, and gender issues.
- Previous experience working with UN Women is an asset
- Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia
