Qualifications
- Educated and experienced – hold a law degree from a recognized law school with 4+ years post-admission experience in private practice or an in-house position. It would be great if you have experience working in an MNC.
- A people person that can build solid relationships and engage with a broad range of stakeholders with diverse skill sets and personalities. You also have good communication skills.
- Capable – You’re commercially savvy, with a highly responsive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset. You can effectively juggle priorities to meet timeframes and deadlines set by the business. You’re also able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Curiosity – Ability to understand and explain the real estate industry and its future growth areas. Be part of a digital transformation of the legal and real estate sector.
Responsibilities
- Using your legal expertise by supporting the General Counsel of South East Asia on all legal and compliance matters in the South East Asia region, focusing on Indonesia.
- Able to conduct direct interaction with internal clients and external parties such as clients, vendors, and other third parties.
- Identify and manage risk exposures and deliver proactive, effective, and strategic advice for our operations in South East Asia.
- Advising on, drafting, and negotiating contracts associated with the firm’s business lines, including assisting with tender responses.
- Reporting on the legal and regulatory systems of Indonesia and ensuring that we comply with relevant legal and ethical obligations.
- Providing support to each of the firm’s business interests and commercial objectives.
- Assist in the firm’s global legal, compliance, and special projects, including entity set-up, M&A, and joint ventures.
- Assisting with developing processes and procedures to identify and manage legal risks, including training and handling ethics and compliance issues.
- Responsible for handling disputes, including HR issues and litigation management.
