Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university, and admission to the Indonesian bar association
• Fluent in English and Bahasa, written and spoken
• At least 3 years of legal experience gained in reputable law firm(s) and/or financial institution(s)
• Proven experience in general M&A/corporate and credit transactions
• In-house experience with a payments/fintech company preferred
• Experience in working with regulatory authorities in the fintech and payments sector will be highly regarded
• Strong analytical, drafting, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to evaluate fact situations, identify legal/compliance issues, analyse and understand regulations, and recommend appropriate courses of action
• Willingness to take on responsibility for matters beyond core expertise

Responsibilities

• Advise and guide the Indonesia (ID) and regional commercial and legal teams on ID legal and regulatory matters, including: company capitalisation, annual general meetings, handling changes in directors/commissioners, M&A transactions, credit/lending transactions (e.g. credit facility agreements, fiducia security)
• Develop, implement and continuously update the company’s compliance policies and procedures for the company’s business in ID, including matters relating to ID data protection regulations and the OJK fintech sandbox
• Be the liaison with the regulators (e.g. BI, OJK) for ID legal and regulatory matters
• Work closely with the regional legal, compliance and product teams to ensure that the company’s products, services and processes comply with ID payments regulations
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements (including credit agreements, partnership agreements, employment agreements, and IP sharing agreements).
