We are seeking Legal Counsel for our Quality & Risk Management team for Advisory. Our Quality & Risk Management Department disseminates timely and relevant information on developments in regulations and executes initiatives to manage our risk in a challenging environment.
Primary responsibilities
- Review and comment of various forms of contracts and legal documents for the management of projects and the procurement of goods and services, for both English and Bahasa version. This will include but not be limited to: requests for proposals/tender documents, contracts/engagement letters/multi-firm engagement agreements, non-disclosure agreements, subcontractor agreements and other relevant legal or risk management documents, in line with KPMG Risk Management policies and procedures, under supervision of KPMG Indonesia Advisory Risk Management Partner / team.
- Assist in the translation of contracts and related legal documents in English and Bahasa version when required.
- Participate in contract discussions and negotiations with clients when required, in line with KPMG Risk Management policies and procedures, under supervision KPMG Indonesia Advisory Risk Management Partner / Risk Management team.
- Provide guidance and advice to the engagement team, to ensure that all contracts are monitored for compliance and performance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing, etc.) and are in compliance with the agreed terms and conditions. Flag issues and concerns where there appears to be non-conformance to the terms and conditions of the contract to Engagement Partner, or KPMG Indonesia Advisory Risk Management Partner when required.
- Contract administration and monitoring in compliance with KPMG Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Development and monitoring of various template forms of contracts and related legal documents.
Additional responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal relationships to promote understanding and compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
- Understand the necessity to comply with KPMG Global risk management requirements and administer the processes required to maintain compliance.
- Manage the implementation of all aspects of the risk function, including implementation processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks.
- Participate in local and global discussions to formulate new or enhance existing procedures and processes.
- Be familiar with the organization data architecture, perform data-mining, understand the business processes and perform gap analysis.
- Deliver training related to risk management policies and procedures as necessary.
- Any other related duties as may be assigned by KPMG Risk Management Partner/team, and/or Partners from time to time.
Skills and experienced required
- Excellent academic background in Law (Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree) from accredited university
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience, practicing law or corporate law. Working experience within a global consulting/advisory firm or other big4 would be an advantage
- Ability to work independently and develop good relationships with senior management and Partners
- Strong attention to details, analytical and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Indonesia with the ability to distil complex concepts into simple terms
- Goal driven – focused on helping the stakeholders to understand and solve legal matters/issues with the ability to drive through to an outcome and to gain stakeholders’ support in circumstances of complexity and ambiguity
