About The Legal Team

The legal department sits at the heart of Xendit and is a core part of the business. The team provides front-line guidance and support to all areas of the company, contributing to decisions that impact our growth every day.

You will play a crucial part in managing our day to day legal matters across Indonesia alongside other members of the legal team. As your role expands, you will have an increasingly pivotal role in the planning and execution of our overall strategy. You will work independently and in a team across the entire company with minimum supervision. We promise you, you won’t be micromanaged! However, if you need more hands on supervision, all you need to do is ask! We want a legal geek who is tech savvy and knows how to translate legal jargon into layman terms. You will be reporting to the Indonesia Head of Legal, who is another legal geek, just like yourself.

We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to predominantly handle:

  • Corporate secretary & development: Working with the corporate secretary team to oversee and administer Xendit group’s corporate structure, governance and developments from legal perspective Internal affairs: Managing legal aspects of various internal affairs of Xendit group, including human resources and assisting with intellectual property matters
  • Experiments: Providing legal support to various experimental products or projects, including carrying out independent legal research, building terms and conditions, privacy policies, and PIC-ing contract lifecycle of the project
  • BAU: Providing legal support to Xendit’s day-to-day business, including contract drafting and review, providing legal advices to the business, improving terms and conditions and various policies

Do Whatever It Takes To Make Xendit Succeed

  • You own your past mistakes, you learn from it, then you move on and grow
  • Mentor other members of the team and help each other
  • Be proactive, throw in ideas, take initiatives
  • You eat constructive feedback like champions
  • You always strive to find middle ground, provide guidance, solutions and risk mitigations
  • You filter information and manage confidentiality as you are wise
  • Hold your ego in-check in a business meetings & negotiations
  • Translate between Xendit, technology and Indonesian law eloquently, both in English and Bahasa

What You Will Need

  • > 6 (five) years PQE from reputable law firm, or combination of reputable law firm and in-house counsel
  • Experience in fintech (payment service provider, lending, etc) is a plus point
  • Experience and extensive knowledge in manpower laws and regulations in a plus point
  • Indonesian advocate qualified e.g. holding PERADI license
  • Strong skills in drafting legal documents and considering legal issues with sound business acumen
  • Eagerness to learn and hunger for growth
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptability, confidence, convincing and open-minded characteristics
  • Proficient English language skills (written and oral) for business negotiation level
