A great opportunity awaits our Legal Manager who will have the strategic and unique role as part of the Gojek Legal Team and Data Protection Officer in Gojek. Together with the data legal team, you’ll run points for all data privacy compliances that are related to all Gojek’s products and services. Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer, you’ll also work closely with the information security team and the engineers to ensure that we adopt the international standard on privacy and data protection standards in Gojek and GoTo Group in general. In addition, you’ll be leading in the policy making process and its implementation to the various streams in Gojek. As part of the award-winning legal team, you will be involved in various tech related works such as drafting tech contracts and providing legal advice on various tech development initiatives by the engineers.
What You Will Do
- Ensure the compliances of Gojek Group with the data privacy laws and international standards
- Develop policies and standards in relation to data protection practices in Gojek
- Maintain close stakeholder management and also people management of the team members
- Provide legal services, including advisory, agreement drafting, agreement reviewing, legal analysis and product exploration and risk identification
- Provide versatile advices and take into accounts various perspectives, which could be from a merchant perspective and/or a customer perspective
- Collaborate with external counsel, where considered necessary
What You Will Need
- Bachelor of Law degree. Having a master’s degree is a plus
- Have an interest or experience in law and technology, in particular data protection matters
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of law, preferably a mix of law firm and in house experience
- Advance level of spoken and written English proficiency
- Team player and ambitious
- Highly responsible, motivated, independent, and passionate about the law
- Possesses ability to adapt and have strong willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Have excellent communication skill and social competence skill
- Domiciled in Greater Jakarta Area
