Scope of work

  • Draft an action plan for the implementation of Women Count Phase II in the ASEAN region
    • Conduct research to assess previous commitments and policy needs in the area of gender equality across the region.
    • Conduct a mapping exercise to determine which policy areas are lacking gender statistics in ASEAN countries.
    • Draft a plan of action to fill existing data gaps.
    • Liaise with national experts to validate the action plan.
  • Organize meetings and prepare related background documents for the ASEAN south-south cooperation gender data group
    • Prepare background documents for related meetings.
    • Organize logistics for on-line and face to face meetings as needed.
    • Liaise with statisticians across the ASEAN region to identify priority areas of expertise.
    • Manage on-line communications for the meetings of the group.
  • Support the creation of knowledge products on gender statistics in ASEAN, including for showcasing each country’s expertise and contribution
    • Liaise with partners to identify areas of contribution and obtain access rights to microdata sets for analysis, when needed.
    • Analyse existing microdata to collate information on several areas of gender statistics.
    • Generate country estimates and regional aggregates and create data tables and related graphs.
    • Draft a report on this topic for the ASEAN region, including data estimates, research and graphics.
  • Work with the government of Indonesia to engender existing practices on disaster data collection.
    • Gather existing questionnaires, survey methods and good practices from the government of Indonesia for the collection of data on disasters.
    • Assess whether existing practices are gender sensitive and document assessment process.
    • Conduct data analysis on climate change and disasters Indonesia, from existing surveys.
    • Generate a short report with recommendations on how to en-gender disaster related data collection.
    • Draft a data brief, including data tables, data visualizations and text, on gender, climate change and disasters for in Indonesia.
  • Organize data user-producer dialogues in Indonesia to promote uptake of recommendations to en-gender disaster data
    • Draft background documents for at least one user-producer dialogue or data related event in the area of gender, climate change and disasters.
    • Handle invitations and liaison with participants in preparation for the event.
    • Manage logistics to organize at least one user-producer dialogue.
    • Follow up with government partners for promoting the use of gender data for disaster-related policy making.
  • Support the production of other gender statistics for Indonesia or other ASEAN countries, as needed.
    • Support the Gender Statistics team, as needed, with the analysis of microdata.
    • Write code for microdata analysis and generate registries for ease of reference,
    • Create data tables and visualizations, as needed.
    • Support with data verification, accuracy and consistency checks of reports and advocacy tools and resources.
