We’re looking for a Researcher to join the CIPS team!
The Researcher will focus on agriculture issues within CIPS’ Food Security and Agriculture focus area. You’ll get to analyze policies and identify sound policy reforms with the aim of improving Indonesia’s food security. Our new Researcher will specifically focus on policies to promote higher sustainable productivity and quality within Indonesia’s agriculture sector.
Some traveling may be required for field research once it is safe to do so.

Requirements:

Indonesian national with a Master degree in agricultural economics, economics, public policy, and other related social science majors

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in conducting research on public policy issues

Practical experience in fieldwork, interviews, and gathering/analyzing data
-
Knowledgeable in various research methodologies
-
Proven academic writing skills
-
Fluent in both written and spoken English
-
Good analytical skills and a strong interest in Indonesia’s social and economic development
-
Good leadership skills and ability to work autonomously both as an individual and in a team
-
Able to work under pressure and meet agreed deadlines
-
Experience in operating statistical software for data processing is an advantage
Responsibilities:

Conducting public policy research in focus areas of CIPS research
-
Delivering policy papers of publishable quality in a timely manner
-
Conducting and driving research and advocacy efforts
-
Utilizing various professional sources to find and extract pertinent information
-
Performing evaluative analysis of selected resources and current data
-
Formulating effective and efficient research processes
-
Identifying market trends and patterns
-
Designing and conducting surveys, questionnaires, etc. specific to research requirements
-
Speaking in CIPS seminars, interviews, meetings, and discussions with relevant stakeholders and policymakers to advocate research results
-
Representing CIPS in external events, such as webinars, focus group discussions, and conferences
-
Building and maintaining partnerships with representatives of other organizations with similar interests and focus areas, including research institutes, government agencies, NGOs, etc.

Document, report, and present research findings to management and external stakeholders
